Jo Ellen S. Fletcher, MA, LMFT
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
LMFT #85238
I am a licensed Marriage and Therapist specializing in addiction and issues of trauma and couples therapy. I earned my specialized credential for addictive disorders, a CATC-IV. This designation given by the State of California, taught me about the depth of addiction and how this disease can move from generation to generation without each member abusing a substance.
As I deepen my training, I continue to complete workshops on sensorymotor and trauma training, to understand how we process and store trauma in the body.
Additionally, I attend consistently attend couples workshops, identifying the dance of distancing that couples create within relationships.
Looking at the individual, the meanings given to them through their upbringing, and their means of coping with the world, I can highlight different areas of strength and challenge the non-effective coping strategies, replacing old ideas with the new.
My extensive education and personal growth has contributed to my own sense of deep empathy and commitment as I listen and honor each human being and understand their journey through life.
Spending time with my own family is my favorite pastime, my daughters and their families bring so much joy into my life!
I love animals and also spend time helping in animal rescue and assisting others in the placement of adoptable pets who have been abandoned.
I look forward to talking with you. I hope to hear from you soon.
Thank you for hearing some of my story, let me hear yours.
Warm regards, Jo
