
When my inner child needs a soothing lullaby, I can hum to Alex to calm my heart. I treat Alex in ways I wish I had been treated when I needed comfort as a little one.
In my mind's eye, I can rock my inner child and whisper sweet calm and loving messages to him when he needs to hear them. "You are ok, you are ok" is the soothing mantra which works. I remind him that he is special and wonderful, worthy of all the love I can give him. Today he will be filled with my love, for I remind him, my 'adult' is here and will take care of him now, and he is never alone.
